In a move that will expand its software offering, Westcon SA has formed a partnership with Symantec that will mean increased value to Westcon SA’s resellers and their customers.

Mark Smissen, channel manager at Symantec Africa, adds that the prospect of working with Westcon across Africa is a significant step for Symantec, especially as Westcon SA demonstrates a keen vision to expand Symantec’s reach outside of the traditional Enterprise space, whilst also focusing on the benefits it will create for the channel in South Africa.
Malherbe adds that this product offering forms part of Westcon SA’s strategy to build a software portfolio and in so doing provide resellers with a more competitive value offering.
Westcon SA will be investing heavily in skilled staff and will also continue to invest in up-skilling current staff with sales and technical knowledge, enabling Westcon SA to efficiently service and support the reseller market.
The expansion enables resellers to go to market with the breadth of Symantec’s products in security and available technologies. This provides resellers with competitive solutions, which add value to the current offerings from Westcon SA.
Symantec’s Altiris Workflow solution is one that will be available from Westcon SA.
The system can aid businesses by reducing costs through IT process orchestration and automation. Workflow solutions assists with IT process implementations, automation of routine tasks, reducing the cost of management, improvements to service levels and end user satisfaction, as well as to facilitate regulatory compliance.
