Gautam Srivastava, AMD's regional vice-president for the Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, has resigned from his Dubai posting to return home to California.

Srivastava, who headed up the region for close to two years, can be credited with putting the AMD South African operation, in particular, back on an even keel with the establishment of a permanent office and the appointment of Imi Mosaheb as its country manager.
Mosaheb says Srivastava will be missed, but that the autonomy he allowed the local office in its operations will ensure a smooth transition to his successor.
AMD's newly-appointed senior vice-president and GM for EMEA, Emilio Ghilardi, is expected to name Srivastava's replacement once he officially takes office on 15 August.
