Pfungwa Serima, having resigned as MD of Microsoft SA on Monday, is today announced as the new MD of SAP Africa.

Serima will be serving out one month's notice at Microsoft, upon which he will take over at SAP from the current MD Claas Keuhnemann.
Under Kuehnemann's five-year tenure, SAP Africa has enjoyed consistent and significant growth.
"I want to thank Kuehnemann for his considerable contribution to expanding SAP’s business in the region. SAP Africa has seen phenomenal growth, and has become one of SAP’s fastest growing markets,” says Jose Duarte, SAP’s president of Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Serima comments: “African businesses are increasingly looking to IT as the basis for business innovation and improving their profitability. Through SAP’s strong African presence and ongoing commitment to the region, we are focusing on providing localised solutions for large enterprises and the small and midsize enterprise (SME) segment in industries such as public sector, mining, retail and the financial services.”
Kuehnemann will take up the position of regional MD of South East Europe and Middle East at SAP.
