Biodata to distribute IBM Internet Security Systems (ISS) products

Local security distributor Biodata has been awarded the rights to distribute the full range of IBM Internet Security Systems (ISS) products with immediate effect.

Biodata is currently the only distributor of ISS products in the region, and will deliver the full scope of ISS security solutions in South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland and Lesotho.
"As a specialised security distributor with a wide array of solutions in our stable, we feel that IBM ISS range truly complements our current offerings. Providing the missing component in our portfolio, which will now include intrusion prevention solutions," states Christian Runte, MD of Biodata.
"Additionally the pure scope of end-to-end solutions they have available far outstrip any offering by any of its competitors.  Moreover the ISS products can be centrally managed from its SiteProtector management console, a very comprehensive security management solution, this then dramatically cuts down the total cost of ownership for customers who usually have to train personnel on every product, making training costs astronomical."
The IBM ISS security solutions currently cover: intrusion prevention; intrusion detection; network anomaly detection; e-mail security; unified threat management (UTM) appliances; Web content filtering; vulnerability management; security management; server protection; and desktop protection.
"We have already made a considerable investment in this relationship. Our own team is already certified on the entire ISS range, and the existing resellers we have taken on are currently being recertified to ensure they are abreast of all of the latest offerings from ISS," ends Runte.
