Canon has been awarded two prestigious Spring 2008 "Pick" awards by Buyers
Laboratory Inc. (BLI), the world's leading independent tester of document
imaging products, for its colour multifunctional printers (MFPs) the iR
C2380i and iR C5185i.

Ease of use, scan functionality and reliability set the iR C2380i and iR
C5185i apart from its competitors and earned the devices the BLI's
accolades.
BLI regularly undertakes exhaustive lab-based evaluations and acknowledges
the best in class with its twice yearly "Pick" awards.
The Canon iR C2380i, named winner in the Outstanding Segment 2 Business
Colour MFP category, met all judges' requirements, confirming the device's
ability to meet the demand of small businesses and workgroups for reliable,
cost-effective colour printing.
Says the BLI: "What's noteworthy about this model is its amazing performance
in our booklet print productivity test. This unit also had above average
colour copier efficiency in all modes evaluated when compared with
competitive models. In fact, colour print efficiency when printing from
one-sided documents to double-sided output was the highest for models
tested."
The Canon iR C5185i earned BLI's Outstanding Segment 4 Business Colour MFP
award, showing reliability at BLI's 200,000-impression durability test,
proving to be very productive, especially when printing in colour. The
device produced BLI's job stream – which simulates typical office usage – in
the fastest time for units in its speed range.
"The BLI awards confirms the iR C2380i and iR C5185i innovative features and
quality that allow businesses to gain the most from their colour printing
output endeavours," says Mark Geldenhuys of Canon Business Solutions South
Africa.
