Red lights are once again flashing regarding the risk of cancer associated with cell phone use as the head of a cancer research organisation has released a memo warning staff to limit cell phone use because of cancer risks.

Dr Ronald Herbermann is the director of the University of Pittsburge Cancer Institute and says he's based his warning on unpublished data.
Published research puts the danger of developing cancer from using a cell phone at negligible, but Herbermann is firm that people should take care and limit mobile phone use by children.
Children have a heightened risk, he says in the memo, because their brains are still developing.
He cautions adults to hold cell phones away from their heads or use a wireless heaset.
Herbermann's warnings fly in the face of established research.
