Almost 24 hours after the bombshell rumour about SITA (State IT Agency) CEO Llewellyn Jones' resignation, the IT agency is still locked in discussions and has failed to make any official statements.
Day two of the GovTech conference is proceeding as normal (apart from a late start), despite an undercurrent of uncertainty and speculation.
People close to the board reveal that SITA executives met late into the night, but it seems that they failed to reach consensus.
Jones is believed to have tendered his resignation last week, but it is understood that he is being asked to remain at his post.
Minister of Public Works & Administration Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi was yesterday scheduled to meet with Jones, but officials are tight-lipped about any outcomes.
