After eight years as one of the key figures within Hewlett-Packard SA's Imaging & Printing Group (IPG), Robbie Johnson is leaving the company to head up IT product sales at LG Electronics.

Johnson's departure from HP comes just weeks after the resignation of another IPG channel stalwart at the firm, Trish Simpson. Simpson is joining 3Com, looking after the networking company's distributor channel.
"I always look forward to a new challenge – that goes without say," says Johnson of his move to LG. "I think there are a lot of opportunities, even in a sluggish market, and I've got some great ideas around unlocking a lot of value to different market sectors."
In the current restructuring taking place at HP SA, Johnson's most recent position entailed handling some of IPG's enterprise key accounts. Prior to that, he was Consumer GTMU manager.
Before joining HP, Johnson spent 10 years at Venture Computer, responsible for rival printer group Lexmark's product range.
