MTN cranks up the discounts

MTN Zone is taking discounted calling to a new level with the launch of a new value proposition that offers  discounts of up to 95% on calls to all networks.

MTN Zone features a dynamic pricing model that optimises network utilisation by offering discounts to customers in areas that have network capacity available. This stimulates increased usage at different times of the day other than off-peak times. Different discounts are offered depending on the caller's location and the time of day.
MTN Zone was launched on 1 December 2007, offering MTN Pay as you Go customers discounts of up to 95% on MTN to MTN calls. In six months has attracted a substantial number of customers.
The next phase of MTN Zone's evolution will enable MTN customers to make calls to any network at competitive rates and with discounts of up to 95%.
MTN Zone also provides increased network quality due to less network congestion, which leads to an enhanced customer usage experience.
"MTN Zone allows customers to talk longer for the same amount of money," says Pieter Verkade, chief marketing officer of MTN SA. "The major benefit of the new offering is that the same discounts are available without there being a restriction on the destination of the call.
"The new MTN Zone 'All Network' offering will reinforce and maintain MTN's position as the innovation leader in this product category," says Verkade.
