Notebook computers with built-in WiMax connectivity will be available to South African users next year.

A new generation of notebook computers, based on Intel's Centrino 2 processor technology launched in South Africa yesterday will become available over the coming days and weeks.
However, the WiMax connectivity that is being offered standard in the US models from now will only be made available to South African users in the first half of 2009.
All Centrino notebook computer already include WiFi connectivity as standard, a feature which has been one of the major drivers of wireless networking adoption around the world.
Intel SA's Danie Steyn says that WiMax will offer users significant broadband access with a guaranteed quality of service.
