Blue Label Telecoms has signed a three-year agreement with Spar to facilitate secure debit and credit card payments for the retailer's stores nationwide.

Under the terms of the agreement, Spar has appointed Transaction Junction in association with Kwikpay (both subsidiaries of Blue Label Telecoms) to supply Spar stores with an electronic funds transfer (EFT) switching solution that will facilitate secure credit and debit card payments.
Kwikpay is currently also the sole distributor and billing process service provider of virtual electronic prepaid airtime to 600 Spar stores nationwide.
The new centralised switching infrastructure will provide Spar with a consolidated view of transactions across all its stores, user-friendly access to the realtime status of transactions, improved reconciliation capabilities as well as an ability to utilise various products and tools to proactively manage the infrastructure for improved performance.
"We evaluated various vendors to fulfil our business requirements. Transaction Junction was selected based on its development competencies, skills and sophisticated technology platforms," says Enno Stelma, IT director at Spar.
"We are extremely pleased to have been selected as Spar's preferred supplier to facilitate secure payments across its nationwide chain of retail stores. This bears testimony to the strength of the relationship between Spar and Blue Label Telecoms and their trust in our skills and delivery  capabilities," said Brett Levy, CEO of Blue Label Telecoms.
