Storage vendor Netapp is making an aggressive bid to grow its operations in South Africa and is adopting an indirect go-to-market strategy to help it achieve its goals.
The company, which has grown in the last few years from a storage appliance supplier to offering a full storage solution that includes management, has traditionally had a low-key presence in the local market.
But regional director Martin Molnar says it is ready to grow beyond the local sales operations in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
He believes that by changing the company's route to market to an indirect model, it will have access to more customers than before.
Fujitsu Siemens has been appointed as Netapp's distribution partner, while VARs (value added resellers) Bytes Technology Group and AL Indigo have been signed up as reseller partners.
Molnar says Netapp is actively looking for additional partners.
