Distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has announced the availability of Dell's latest range of Vostro laptops aimed at South Africa's small-to medium-businesses (SMB's), adding to its existing range of notebooks, desktops and servers designed to meet the needs of this market.

This range, featuring the 13.3-inch Vostro 1310 and 15.4 inch Vostro 1510, are small, lightweight and easy-to-carry laptops and also come at an affordable price.
Available immediately from DCC, the Dell laptops come with a three-year warranty that includes next day, onsite support.
Research conducted recently by Ponemon Institute for Dell revealed that hundreds of thousands of laptops purchased by organisations will be lost or left unattended at aiports around the world this year.
Approximately 57% of those laptops will contain valuable data that is confidential, posing security risks to the companies. Therefore, security is a  high priority for these Vostro laptops which include features such as integrated fingerprint readers, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2 which prevents unauthorised network access and data theft, cable lock slot, and factory-installed McAfee Total Protection for Small Business security software, so that users can be assured that their information will be secure.
In addition, the Vostro line feature's Dell's CoolSlice technology, which is designed to reduce system bottom surface temperature. The result is a more comfortable experience and the flexibility to use a laptop on soft surfaces like a bed or couch.
Comments Mandy Porter, Dell business unit manager at DCC: "SMB's are increasingly opting for laptops, and the Dell Vostro laptops are an ideal choice.  The units are very light yet packed with loads of functionality.
"This range of products provides the channel with an opportunity to offer notebooks to SMB's without compromising features yet demonstrating remarkable value for money."
The Dell Vostro 1310 and 1510 offer the following features:
* Slot load optical drive;
* The display screen of the new Vostro 13.3-inch has 94 percent the viewing area of a 14.1-inch model, yet weighs nearly 20 percent less; and
* Free-fall-sensing hard drive technology which to minimises data loss if the laptop is bumped or dropped
