Connect, click and score! With these words, Intel South Africa has officially launched the Intel Soccer Challenge, an online game where registered users can compete against other local players on a virtual soccer field and stand a chance to win great prizes.
To participate in the Intel Soccer Challenge, players need to register online by visiting www.intelsoccerchallenge.co.za. In the game, each player has ten shots to get past defenders and the goalkeeper to score valuable points. The more spectacular a player's attempts, the more points he or she gets to be boosted to the top of the table.
Players of the online game stand a chance of winning various prizes including a top-of-the-range gaming PC.
To celebrate the competition's launch, Intel will host a Treasure Hunt at the rAge expo, with various Apple iPods up for grabs, including a 32Gb iTouch with docking station and cover.
Players can practice their moves in training by using the spacebar and arrow keys and go on to demonstrate their online skills in the tournament. The objective is to collect as many points as possible in ten attempts. A player will, for example, score 300 points for a normal shot and get up to 1 500 points for a bicycle kick.
"We are thrilled to launch the Intel Soccer Challenge in South Africa, which will provide our cyber soccer stars with an opportunity for online fame. Players can also look forward to a few surprises in the game," says Cindy-Anne Passet, country marketing manager at Intel South Africa.
