Microsoft has announced the new lower retail price for its entire Xbox 360 family of consoles in South Africa, with the entry level Arcade console now coming in at R1 799.99.
From today, Xbox 360, which includes a 60Gb hard drive and one wireless controller, will be priced at R2 699.99. The Xbox 360 Elite, which comes with a 120Gb hard drive is comes in at R3 499.99.
The new pricing is part of Microsoft's ongoing strategy to open up the high-definition gaming and entertainment market to a wider audience.
So far, more than 6-million Xbox 360s have been sold in Europe since the lower pricing was announced there.
