US-based retailer, Jordan's Furniture, has upgraded its existing software to Ultimate Gold from global information technology services company, Episys, to enable it to improve the way labels are printed and also to maintain high levels of control and accuracy critical to the company's success.

Jordan's Furniture staff members are now able to access the extensive product database to ensure the correct information for any item of furniture is clearly stated. Proper item bar coding is vital to accurate stock replenishment and management. The option to add additional logos is also possible.
Peter Clark, director of information systems at Jordans Furniture, says: "New England is a very crowded market place for home furnishings, and customers have a lot of choice, which compels us to consistently provide the best value proposition. Episys has a proven record of providing a high level of customer service, and this helped our decision to upgrade our software. One of the biggest benefits we realised was the ability to queue and print specific tags on request."
Peter Lewis, marketing director at Episys, adds: "Upgrading Jordan's to Ultimate Gold will improve the consistency of messaging in store and improve the customers' shopping experience, which will result in increased sales."
Jordan's Furniture already began seeing the benefits of the upgrade earlier this year, including better label creation and the easy, quick and efficient ability to make necessary changes.
Labels are currently printed at Jordan's Furniture's Corporate Offices rather than in the individual stores. Plans for the future include further upgrades that could include Episys' Retail Enterprise Suite, which brings the benefits of consistency of message, accuracy of signage with the checkout price and an efficient store operations process that frees store associates to focus on customers rather than signs.
