The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, in partnership with the Siyafunda Community Technology Centre (CTC), has launched a computer school programme at the Adelaide Tambo Development Centre in Wattville.

The project is the second of its kind in the metro, following a successful pilot in Palm Ridge which was opened in 2006.
The CTC is supported by major stakeholders in the information technology sector including Microsoft, SAP, MassMart and NextGen.
The centre already has 200 students and will support other initiatives by the metro aimed at eradicating computer illiteracy. These include the allocation of e-mail addresses to all grade 12 learners in the region. All of the metro's libraries already provide this service.
