The almost 100 staff members at Telkom Media received end-of-year bonuses – even though they haven't been doing any work while the future of the pay-TV licencee is being determined.

According to a report in Business Times, the company has retained the workforce it hired after winning its pay-TV licence but, since Telkom announced its intention to sell its stake in May 2008, staff and equipment hasve been sitting idle.
The report adds that staff members report for work every day but there's nothing for them to do.
Telkom is still covering Telkom Media's operational costs.
