Facebook is once again attempting to exploit the huge volume of personal information it holds about its users, this time by creating a massive market research database.
Using the database, Facebook will let clients selectively traget members to research new products. Selection criteria will be based on personal information.
The company wasn't very successful with its much-criticised advertising platform that turned Facebook users into unwitting ambassadors for advertisers' products.
Now it's demonstrating the new market research capabilities at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
