Distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) has been appointed to distribute and sell Hewlett Packard's range of desktop and notebook computers. The company already distributes HP printers.
The agreement is effective immediately.
Esna-May Hattingh, HP's business unit manager at DCC, comments: "Obtaining the rights to sell HP PCs and notebooks was the next logical step for us at DCC. We already distribute HP's range of printers and print supplies, and have a variety of complimentary product offerings that will be greatly enhanced by HP PCs and notebooks."
DCC's HP sales people have been sent on the necessary PC and notebook training courses, so they can fully understand the products and the associated benefits. DCC will also be selling HP Care Packs, which are in effect HP's extended warranty, available to resellers.
"HP's distribution strategy in the region is to ensure that channels supply the right product, at the right time and price," says Paul Boshoff, GM of PSG products for HP South Africa.
"DCC will be an addition to HP's existing distributor network and we look forward to a mutually rewarding business relationship. DCC has well-established logistical systems and services in place to distribute HP products that will create sales and profitable opportunities for resellers."
