South African distributor Printacom will be reviving the TallyGenicom brand in South Africa.

TallyGenicom in theUS recently filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the US bankruptcy laws, and it's US assets – including the TallyGenicom brand and products – have been bought out by Printornix.
Printacom is a Printronix distributor and recently announced closer ties with the international printer vendor.
"We have come full circle with the TallyGenicom brand, having represented it previously, and we are especially pleased to be able to offer the channel continuity of their products, service and support," says Neil Rom, Printacom MD. "We are perfectly positioned to not only continue where TallyGenicom left off, but strengthen that position."
Rom says that bringing the brand into the Printacom fold will add greater stability, increased responsiveness to the market and  reassurance for TallyGenicom customers.
"We aim to provide a seamless user experience and have therefore retained the authorised service partner and have employed two of TallyGenicom's top local staff to join our team."
Libby Ballardin,  former senior sales executive for TallyGenicom SA, was appointed at the beginning of March this year to head Printacom's specialised printing division. This division is focused on high-volume line, thermal and barcode printers.
Printacom has also appointed Andre van der Walt, who was formerly TallyGenicom's senior engineer for training and support. Printegration has been retained as the Authorised Service Provider.
