South Africa has again proved to be a successful nursery for Microsoft executives as yet another locally-based GM jets out to take up a senior global position at the software giant's Redmond, Washington headquarters.

Following in the footsteps of senior executives such as Mark Hill, Gordon Fraser and Cyril Belikoff, Thomas Hansen – current GM for Microsoft WECA (West, East, Central Africa & Indian Ocean Islands) – has been promoted to worldwide GM of Distribution.
Hennie Loubser, who himself has spent the last two years in Redmond as business manager to the worldwide corporate vice-president for Microsoft's Enterprise & Partner Group (EPG), will take over from Hansen effective 6 July.
Loubser is a 10-year veteran at Microsoft and prior to his current position, headed up its EPG business in South Africa.
