Workgroup has been selected as a 2009 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) Awards winner in Distribution. The company was chosen out of an international field of top Microsoft partners as effectively delivering customer solutions built on Microsoft technology.

Says Workgroup’s MD, Doug Woolley: “As our target audience in the Microsoft space consists of a fiercely loyal dealer base, Workgroup has had to take creative and effective approaches to creating new and maintaining existing business opportunities by working directly with Microsoft at both executive and business development levels.
“By consistently reaching resellers and providing a high level of customer satisfaction we have delivered strong sales results. It is incredibly rewarding to see our success in this endeavour being recognised on a global level."
Awards were presented in a number of categories, with winners chosen from a pool of nearly 2 000 entrants worldwide. The Distribution Partner of the Year award honours partners who have demonstrated the highest level of excellence in the areas of innovation, engagement, and sales performance.
Over the past year, Workgroup has recruited new dealers, created new business with its innovative customer marketing and channel programs, and has helped current dealers achieve significant revenue gains.
To be eligible for this award, entrants must be Microsoft wholesale distributors with a valid fully packaged product (FPP), Volume Licensing, or original equipment manufacturing (OEM) agreement.
“Microsoft is proud to recognise Workgroup as the Distribution Partner of the Year,” said Mark Reynolds, acting small and midmarket solutions and partners group lead, Microsoft South Africa. “Workgroup has developed a systematic and process-driven renewals business based on Microsoft technologies. They have partnered with local Microsoft resources and a third-party training company to deliver a series of workshops designed to promote Microsoft solutions and licensing knowledge to help resellers offer new solutions to their customers.”
