Sylvara Technologies, one of South Africa’s largest electronics refurbishing and e-waste disposal companies, has been appointed as an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) and Express Centre for Epson SA.
As an Epson ASP and Express Centre, Sylvara Technologies is responsible for all post sales warranty repairs for all Epson products – providing clients with on site repair or replace service, depending on the product.
Epson-trained specialists are deployed at an ASP’s premises, ensuring that only suitably qualified and skilled people are on hand to deliver the high-quality service that Epson customers demand.
Depending on the diagnosis, Epson users benefit from simple troubleshooting, speedy product repair or replacement either on site for corporate clients or at one of their branches around the country.
Epson Express Centres stock a comprehensive range of spare parts, consumables and accessories to get customers’ up and running with as little effort as possible.
This means Sylvara Technologies will be able to perform onsite exchanges and repairs, as well as access to Epson’s entire range of business products – giving it the ability to develop customised warranties and services for the many different needs of its customers.
Established in 1998 and a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher, Sylvara Technologies provides a specialised sales and donations process of used IT equipment for use in the education, non-governmental organisation, and small business sectors.
As part of this function, Sylvara Technologies manages the acquisition, refurbishment, quality control and implementation of second-hand IT systems in these sectors – ensuring that schools and non-governmental organisations do not become dumping grounds for damaged IT equipment.
“Approximately 75% of computers processed in Sylvara Technologies’ workshops are refurbished for resale through our dealer network and retail outlets,” says Willy Kriel, MD of Sylvara Technologies.
Those that can’t be refurbished provide the spare parts needed to repair faulty units. The company’s last resort is to recycle.
Although only recently appointed as an official ASP and Express Centre, Sylvara Technologies’ relationship with Epson is more than two years old.
“We’ve been servicing Epson products for some time now,” he says.
“Sylvara Technologies has an impressive country-wide footprint – covering Johannesburg, Cape Town, Kwazulu-Natal, Port Elizabeth and the Free State – which is a crucial requirement when we look for service partners,” adds Albert Fayard, GM of Epson SA.
“Coupled with the organisation’s efficient internal tracking systems, its proprietary IT asset management software and stringent quality-control practices, Sylvara Technologies will undoubtedly add a lot of value to Epson’s brand by ensuring that our customers have access to an accredited service, repair and refurbishment partner.”
