Demand Data, a subsidiary of the SI Group, has been appointed an EMC Premier Solution Partner (PSP) and joins EMC’s global partner programme, dubbed EMC Velocity2, of which PSP is a key element.
Demand Data MD Jack Ward says he looks forward to partnering with EMC and views the appointment as a positive development for Demand Data as it supports the company’s commitment to the provision of broad-based information security for its clients.
“The EMC Corporation is a world leader in information infrastructure solutions with a high profile in South Africa,” says Ward. “EMC products are being used to successfully manage information growth and meet data protection challenges with the cost constraints that characterise the current economic climate in mind.
“By leveraging the skills and technical resources within the SI Group, developed over the last 15 years, Demand Data is geared to meet all the accreditation and certification requirements of EMC as well as the PSP and Velocity2 programmes.
“As required by EMC, and as one of only a few Premier Select Partnerships in South Africa, we will focus on the ‘data backup and archive’ areas of business and offer customers a full consulting, installation and support service for a range of EMC products. These include NetWorker, Avamar, Data Protection Manager, RepliStor, EMC Disk Libraries, Recoverpoint, Celerra, Source One, Centera, AutoStart and HomeBase,” he adds.
