Specialist distributor Duxbury Networking is to distribute the Tandberg range of high-definition video conferencing, telepresence and mobile video products in South Africa.
As a Tandberg Platinum partner, Duxbury Networking will play a key role in the provision of pre- and post-installation support and other value-added services in conjunction with its accredited resellers and dealers.
With dual headquarters in the US and Norway, Tandberg is represented in 90 countries. The company is a leading proponent of video as an effective ‘green’ technology, reducing global warming by cutting corporate travel requirements. Tandberg technology also drives significant, measurable travel-related cost savings.
Graham Duxbury, Duxbury Networking CEO, says teleconferencing is gaining in popularity in South Africa as organisations look for ways to reduce costs associated with travel while enhancing collaboration with business partners.
“We see imminent growth in this sector of the market as the costs associated with efficient business-to-business communication come under the spotlight during this period of economic constraint,” he says.
According to Bryan Thompson, area manager, sub-Saharan Africa at Tandberg, the appointment of Duxbury Networking as a distribution partner will help to grow the telepresence market in South Africa through ‘true B2B’ communication.
“The Tandberg solution is seen as the benchmark for enterprise-wide telepresence deployment, thanks to its technically advanced product design and ability to interoperate with third-party telepresence products,” says Thompson.
The Tandberg video-centric product line-up is expected to integrate well with existing data and voice solutions within the Duxbury Networking portfolio.
