Kathy Gibson at GovTech, Durban – Government has thrown its weight behind the State IT Agency (SITA), committing resource and investment to ensuring the agency's success. 

The first move is the establishment of a ministerial task force comprising the ministers of Public Service & Administratio, State Security, Defence and Communication.
This was announced today by Minister of Public Service & Administration Richard Baloyi, opening the GovTech conference.
He says the team will provide support for SITA in helping it become the ICT agency of choice for the public sector.
He adds that the team is contemplating the drawing up of a Code of Good Practice for SITA and the industry to follow.
