Following the sudden departure of Devan Naidoo just over two months ago, Intel South Africa has appointed a new country manager for the territory.
Videsha Proophveerajah, who has been with the local company for about a year and was responsible for OEM – or as Intel refers to it, MNC – business was officially appointed last week. An official announcement on her appointment is only expected next week.
Sources indicate that unike Naidoo, who was responsible for sub-Saharan Africa including countries such as Nigeria and Kenya, Proophveerajah will only be responsible for South Africa. Jacques van Schalkwyk will continue to look after the rest of the continent for the chip giant.
Proophveerajah has a long history in the local IT industry and has previously worked for organisations such as Microsoft.
