Two African telecommunications and IT service provides, Q-Venture Holdings and Eaton Telecom Infrastructure, have joined forces to create a pan-African telecommunications infrastructure company.

Q-Venture Holdings builds and manages telecommunications infrastructure as well as provides IT service management solutions in 13 countries across Africa and the Middle East. Eaton Telecom Infrastructure is a UK-based company founded by Sanjiv Ahuja, former CEO of Orange Mobile, Alan Harper, former strategy director of Vodafone, and senior executives from Celtel/Zain. It is focused on owning and operating telecommunications infrastructure assets across Africa.
Alan Harper has been appointed as CEO of the newly-merged company, which will build, acquire and operate telecommunications infrastructure assets for operators across Africa.
Chairman Sanjiv Ahuja says: "The rapid growth in the telecommunications industry in Africa creates pressure on network operating costs and quality, operators are looking for innovative ways to do business.  Shared tower ownership and operations is a vital part of this and the new company we have created is focused on becoming a leader in this field across the continent."
