Xiotech has won Tech Awards Circle 2009 Gold Award for Best Midrange Hardware for its Emprise 7000 Edge storage system featuring patented Intelligent Storage Element (ISE).
"This award is further validation that our Emprise storage systems, and the ISE technology they are built upon, are delivering superior value to end users," says Xiotech president and CEO Alan Atkinson. "We look forward to talking more with organisations implementing virtual servers and desktops to ensure they're deploying the right storage for their particular needs.
"With blazing performance, 100% usable capacity, a five-year hardware warranty and lower energy costs than other products on the market, our Emprise systems offer solutions and benefits for virtualised environments."
Tech Awards Circle celebrates the products, services, vendors and individuals making a difference in the industry today. The winners represent a broad range of achievements, from hardware to software to services in consumer/SOHO, SMB, midrange and enterprise markets. Gold, silver and bronze awards were given out in each category.
"Despite overwhelmingly strong competition, Xiotech exhibited true industry excellence to be recognised with our Gold Award for Best Midrange Hardware," said Kevin Anderson, awards programme coordinator.
"Our judges were pleased at the level of submissions from all the vendors entering this year's competition, so to be named a winner of this prestigious award is a testament to the quality and innovation unrivalled in the high-tech community."
The Emprise 7000 Edge storage area network (SAN) solution supports up to 10 ISE (160 terabytes). It can be easily upgraded as needs evolve to Xiotech's Emprise 7000 system, which supports up to 64 ISE (1 024Tb), providing true investment protection. In addition, Emprise 7000 Edge includes Web Services-based management via ICON Manager and simplified provisioning and management of storage in virtualised server environments via Virtual View.
