The Department of Trade and Industry (dti) is in the analysis phase of its Incentive Database Project that seeks to cross-reference projects and programmes and monitor project lifecycles.

Fios, which is developing the project, and dti have selected Informatica as the tool to handle all ETL (extraction, transformation and loading) requirements and work in conjunction with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database and IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence.
“The project will see seamless and automated ETL pulling data from various sites and loading it into the central repository,” says Paul van Aswegen, GM of Informatica South Africa. “The automated process eliminates human error and provides a single version of the data for the Incentive Database Project.”
