DCD-Dorbyl, the largest mechanical engineering concern in Southern Africa, has selected Infor Performance Management Business Process Applications (BPA) to future-proof its enterprise-wide strategic management, planning and budgeting, forecasting, financial consolidation, and reporting and analysis.

The expertise and quality of work delivered by the Softworx team and a high level of involvement and input from the DCD Group ensured this project’s successful outcome.
GM Dawie Marais explains that the company was looking for a software model that was more efficient in gathering and distributing financial information and which fulfilled organisation-wide requirements. These business needs, coupled with the fact that their existing technology was approaching obsolescence, was the core reason for the implementation of the new solution.
Adriaan Rossouw, Softworx account manager, says that since the implementation of Infor PM BPA, DCD-Dorbyl has the flexibility in obtaining information in the required formats and is able to cater for different versions of data using a single model. The company was not only impressed with the solution’s ease of use, but also with the ease at which enhancements and changes can be made.
According to Jane Thomson, MD of Softworx, based on the quality of the core model, Infor PM BDA has paved the way for further improvement opportunities at DCD-Dorbyl.
“There is definitely room for future enhancements using the existing technology and it has already been identified that the solution will, in the future, be used to cater more comprehensively to the requirements of the company’s various divisions.”
