President Jacob Zuma has committed the government to reducing the cost of communications.

In yesterday evening's State of the Nation address, Zuma said the South African public can look forward to an even further reduction of broadband, cell phone, landline and public phone rates.
"We will work to increase broadband speed and ensure a high standard of internet service, in line with international norms," he told a joint sitting of Parliament.
The President also pledged R846-billion on public infrastructure, which would include ensuring a reliable power supply.
