HP believes that some companies have been selling inkjet cartridges online that not only infringe its patents, but even contain stolen parts.
The company has accused a number of Asian companies of selling cartridges online that contain the very parts stolen from HP factories in Singapore and Malaysia.
HP filed a lawsuit on Friday, alleging that the companies had sold the cartridges via Amazon.com and CraigsList.
The parts were allegedly stolen in 2006 and 2007 – a couple months later, the suspect products appeared online.
The companies named in the lawsuit are Microjet Technology, PTC Holdings and Mipo Technology.
