Industry veteran Patrick Evans has jioined specialist IT security company Securicom as director of business development.

Evans has moer than 35 years experience in the IT field. He founded IT service management consulting firm, Foster-Melliar, running the company for 10 years before selling its security business to Symantec in 2001. He spent seven-and-a-half years as the African regional director at Symantec, before joining Netcure, a consulting services partner to Symantec.
Evans shares the Securicom team’s vision to grow the company into the leader in managed IT security services in Africa.
“Securicom is one of the first providers of end-to-end managed IT security services in Africa and is recognised as an expert in its field," he says. "With its range of world class solutions and a specialist team, Securicom has the makings to be the leader in the managed security market in Africa.
"My goal is to support this vision by white-labelling Securicom’s service offerings through specialised service providers across Africa, leveraging our team’s ability to quickly provide service offerings in line with customer needs."
Evans adds that he will also be working with the company’s CTO office to extend the company’s range of offerings into adjacent service lines such as endpoint management, endpoint protection, data protection, storage-as-a-service and web 2.0 security.
