The local IT channel has been left reeling by news that one of the country's top VARs, Eclipse Networks, has placed itself under judicial management.

Management of the company applied for voluntary judicial management on 19 March, but news of the move only broke in the local IT industry yesterday.
Eclipse's total liabilities are believed to be in the region of R60-million and many of the country's top distributors can be listed among its creditors.
According to sources, Richard Rix, MD of Eclipse has been put on "gardening leave", but this could not be confirmed at the time of going to press.
Eclipse was formed in 1987 and is one of SA's olders resellers. It has a staff complement of 285, mainly in support and maintenace services.
At the time of going to press, attempts to contact the judicial manager, Henk Strydom, had proved unsuccessful.
