South African Internet users have been experiencing slow international links for the last few days and can expect this situation to continue in the near term.

Increased latency is still being experienced on international traffic, with international ADSL and access services between Johannesburg and London/New York as well as international MPLS services between Johannesburg and New York affected.
Technical issues on the SAT-3 cable experienced last month appear still to be affecting performance, with some international circuits still being routed across restoration paths.
As yet, there is no indication of when normal traffic routing would resume.
