Peter Vieira has been appointed national channel manager at Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor to 27 sub-Saharan countries.
Vieira replaces Deyan Stojcevski, who has emigrated to the UK.

“Peter Vieira has a wealth of knowledge and experience and has spent eight years in the IT industry,” says Ronnie Oeschger, director system sales in the Xerox division at Bytes Document Solutions. “Seven of those were spent focused on developing and managing channel business. He was channel manager at OKI, marketing and product manager at Motion Office, and country manager at TallyGenicom SA, among others.”
Oeschger says he is still looking for a replacement for Vieira in his former role as business development manager at Bytes Document Solutions.
Vieira’s new role will be to grow the Xerox channel and retail business.
“I’m splitting the channels into three segments, each with its own, specific requirements,” he says. “Retail will handle the SOHO market. Our open channel will deal with the SMME market. Our VARs will offer Xerox document solutions and packages to SMMEs and corporate clients. My primary focus will be training and motivating each channel segment that we deal with to enable them to offer Xerox products knowledgably and ultimately resulting in happy customers. We will also work on building personal relationships, offering excellent service and maintaining our well above industry-standard stock-holding.”
Vieira has a team of seven people to handle the South African market.
“They are a solid and experienced team,” says Vieira. “We also have hundreds of people in Bytes Document Solutions who are responsible for critical background processes, and we rely heavily on them to keep the engine firing. And behind them we have the Altron Group with its wealth of expertise and immense financial muscle.”
Another initiative Vieira will undertake is to tweak and relaunch the organisation’s Xerox Xtra Premium Partner Programme.
“My predecessor did an outstanding job heading the Xerox channel business and he has left me with a solid foundation to build on,” says Vieira. “I’m looking forward to the challenge of growing the business further.”
