South African specialist IT security company, Securicom, is laying down roots in Namibia.
The company, which has offered a comprehensive range of fully-managed IT security services to companies in Namibia as part of an exclusive reseller agreement with MTN Business for the past three years, will now have an established presence in the country with a technical and pre-sales office in Windhoek.
Securicom already has offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and London, and offers its services in 10 other African countries.
According to Dries Morris, Securicom’s operations director, demand for its IT security services in Namibia has grown so substantially over the last 24 months that the company needs people on the ground to service its customers there.
“This is a rapidly growing market for us and the only way we can continue to deliver a quality service to our clients in Namibia and support ongoing growth is with a locally-based, dedicated team,” he says.
Securicom’s IT security services to MTN Business clients in Namibia include: advanced e-mail content filtering and management (e-Purifier); hosted email archiving and retrieval (MailVault); Vulnerability Health Check (Securiscan); perimeter protection (Managed Firewalls); optimised wide area data services (Managed WDS), and a powerful web security service, WebSecure, which inspects, filters and cleans inbound and outbound web traffic to combat browser-based threats such as bots, phishing, and other malicious active content.
All Securicom’s solutions utilise world-leading technologies, which are innovatively packaged together for their individual strengths and combined with Securicom’s expertise, to deliver comprehensive protection against known and emerging threats.
The solutions are hosted upstream by Securicom where they are monitored 24x7x365 by its team of security experts. The services are offered on a subscription basis so there is no capital outlay for clients.
“Securicom is the only company in Namibia to provide a complete IT security solution in the cloud, remaining ‘touchless’ to the client’s environment. The non-invasiveness and low cost of ownership of our solutions is particularly attractive to businesses,” says Morris.
He concludes: “We are committed to delivering innovative, world class IT security services in partnership with MTN Business to companies in Namibia.”
