PCCW Global, a subsidiary of Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications provider, PCCW, and Altech Kenya Data Networks (Altech KDN), Kenya’s full service data communications carrier, have signed an MPLS Inter-Carrier Interconnection (ICI) agreement to mutually extend their international coverage to more than 110 countries and 1 300 cities worldwide.

PCCW Global and Altech KDN are interconnected using the TEAMS and Seacom cable systems via multiple STM4 connections, with ICI located in Singapore and London.
This first worldwide MPLS partnership between PCCW Global and Altech KDN enables PCCW Global to provide protected international MPLS access and transport services to Kenya and Uganda and to complement Altech KDN’s strength regionally and to the rest of the world.
PCCW Global and Altech KDN are now able to offer both Layer 2 Ethernet and Layer 3 MPLS-based VPN services, utilizing both the Altech KDN and PCCW Global’s network infrastructures.
