Hot on the heels of a rare antitrust victory in a Delaware court this week comes the news that chip giant Intel has agreed to settle a similar case with the US Federal Trade Commission.

Bloomberg News reports that details of the settlement will be announced later today.
The Commission's antitrust case was based on similar charges levelled against Intel by various entities throughout the world accusing it of anti-competitive business practices. Late last year, Intel settled a dispute with rival AMD by paying the latter $1,25-billion. Intel was also fined $1,45-billion by the European Union last year for similar offenses.
