Paradigm HR Solutions, a construction and engineering industry labour broker, has been absorbed into the Cosira Group, a company within Silva Group Holdings, which Paradigm also belonged to.
The Cosira Group is the largest privately-owned steel construction company in South Africa, having offered turnkey solutions to its clients since 1988, including all aspects of project management, fabrication, corrosion protection, site erection, commissioning and construction management.
“Retaining quality staff is paramount to Cosira’s sustainability and success, and it is vital to have access to broad-based HR skills and the best available resources in the market place. Given their experience in the construction industry, the skills which the Paradigm team possesses, and which we have now brought in-house, provides us with the perfect HR solution," Cosira Group CEO John da Silva says.
Founded in 2002, Paradigm HR Solutions operated as an HR outsourcing company and labour brokerage, providing a wide range of HR functions to companies in the construction, manufacturing and engineering sectors.
The Cosira Group maintains that a company’s greatest assets are its people. According to da Silva, Cosira has placed a premium on ensuring that both technological investment and human capital are at the forefront of delivery, upholding his philosophy that “in the end, great people make companies great”.
“This is particularly pertinent in the South African steel and construction sector”, he says, “where there is currently a severe shortage of skilled and qualified individuals.”
Former MD of Paradigm and now HR Executive at the Cosira Group, Isabel Correia, agrees: “The sourcing of skilled technical resources is crucial to the success of any project.
"The right people are a company’s biggest asset, as well as being its biggest financial investment. And this is also very true of most construction project environments, where having the right employees on site can really make or break the success of the project.”
