South African Individual Electronic Communications Network (iECN) licence holders can now offer their enterprise customers a fully hosted mobile Unified Communications solution with hosted PBX functionality.

This follows TELES Africa’s release of a new solution that delivers softswitch functionality to mobile users of the TELES C5 service provider and enterprise solution. TELES Africa is the official representative of Berlin-based Next Generation Networks and Access Gateway vendor TELES AG.
The availability of the new solution results from the incorporation of an award winning mobile convergence solution from Comdasys, one of the world’s leading providers of mobile unified communications solutions, into the TELES C5 offering.
esigned to help enterprises deploy and mobilise voice and unified communications applications, the Comdasys solution supports VoIP and unified communications features on Symbian, iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android based smart phones.
According to Adam Victor, GM of TELES Africa, the new solution enables fixed-mobile-convergence for all established smart phones on the TELES Class 5 softswitch.
“Mobile users will gain a completely new spectrum of functionality including PBX features, mobile least cost routing, and a seamless handover to wireless networks. All of this adds up to a very comfortable and convenient unified communications experience for the mobile user regardless of location and network,” he explains.
