Telepresence award boosts Imago

Growth plans at Imago Communications SA have received a boost with news that LifeSize – one of its flagship product ranges – has been named tops in its industry by business leaders from across Europe.

Building further market share in the corporate sector is top of the strategic wish-list for the local video-conferencing (VC) pacesetters at Imago, and endorsement from value-conscious CEOs in embattled European economies creates a critical point of difference in an increasingly competitive sector.
LifeSize, known for its innovative high-definition VC solutions, was voted European CEO magazine’s Telepresence Provider of 2010 by senior executives.
The accolade establishes LifeSize VC products as the preferred choice of organisations looking to create or extend high quality collaboration and communication platforms.
Typically, LifeSize technology enables executives to achieve virtual face-to-face interaction with their peers across continents, countries and regions.
The award was won in competition with some of the world’s leading technology companies.
Imago MD Clint Cronjé comments: “We congratulate our partners at LifeSize on this achievement. LifeSize is a division of Logitech, and is known for cutting-edge technology, but the key here is that the award comes from corporate leaders not techie insiders.

Telepresence capabilities are increasingly used as a proxy for expensive and time-consuming executive travel. Carbon footprint savings are important, too.
However, Cronjé says smart corporate players increasingly deploy telepresence products as a means of achieving competitive advantage.
“Early communication – even continuous collaboration – via a LifeSize platform saves time and improves decision-making,” he says.
“Telepresence is a winner as a strategic business tool. This new award is the latest confirmation.”
The LifeSize achievement was featured in the February/March issue of European CEO that was distributed to international business, financial and political leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
