iPad drives notebook sales

Christmas sales for 2011 at notebook and accessories retailer, The Notebook Company, were 100% up on December 2010 – thanks to the sale of Apple’s hot new iPad. Sales of iPads now account for 20% of the company’s revenue.

This is according to Christopher Riley, MD of The Notebook Company, who says the iPad is the “next big technology craze”.
“We have managed to secure a steady supply of stock, so while many consumers are battling to find stock we have been able to supply demand – hence our bumper sales in December.”
He adds: “While I think iPad sales will remain brisk this year, I don’t see them accounting for more then 20% of our total revenue going forward. Notebooks will remain our bread and butter, for now.”
