BasisOne, a Britehouse company and Africa’s premier SAP-accredited hosting provider, has entered into a strategic partnership with Novell to ensure that an enterprise organisation’s security policies are extended onto its platform infrastructure.

BasisOne has deployed the Compliance Management Platform (CMP) suite, by Novell, which includes identity and security management (IDM) components within their managed hosting environment that operates SAP ERP solutions as a service.
The solution, in conjunction with BasisOne’s infrastructure partner, Vodacom Business, offers customers dynamic resource allocation within segregated and secure resource pools.
When taking all the components into consideration, customers are able to leverage off this holistic outsource model, which includes virtual infrastructure, end-to-end application management, and a comprehensive solution addressing governance, risk and compliance standards.
“This is a major boost to our services to a rapidly expanding client base. Security remains a critical consideration, and an issue that warrants attention from those wanting to invest in cloud based services and hosting in general,” says Warren Small, BasisOne business development director.
"Through our partnership with Novell, we are able to address the ever increasing burden on organisations' governance requirements. It is our objective to ensure our customers have the assurance through hosting with BasisOne, that not only are their security requirements address, but their business needs are provided for."
This alliance and co-operation is intended to advance the role of SAP ERP cloud-based services in business, and reinforces the partnership already in existence between BasisOne and Novell.
BasisOne recently received a European Identity Award for a project the company ran using IAM technology provided by Novell.
According to Small, the award is a significant achievement for all those behind the entrenchment of BasisOne, its level of competitive quality and the significant advantages that its extensive solution portfolio offers the market.
“We are very excited about the award and the fact that BasisOne is recognised on a global scale for the value of its core service to existing and emerging markets. Digital identity management remains a vibrant and exciting area of modern information and communication infrastructure and digital communication.
"It is also particularly active in terms of SAP infrastructure and application investment, a highly influential segment of the broader local information, communication technology and its place in commerce,” he adds.
Markus Krauss, VP of service provider and cloud business Novell EMEA, believes the alliance with BasisOne and Vodacom Business to entrench the value of cloud-based service strategies will result in significant benefit to customers.
Earlier in the year, when presenting an award to BasisOne as a hosting partner, Krauss complimented the company on its leadership within the market and its contribution to meaningful, value-added workload management.
