HP is making a play for the burgeoning software market, with CEO Leo Apotheker telling reporters the company plans to put its webOS operating system on all its PCs and mobile devices.

Apotheker, who hails from software giant SAP, told Bloomberg News that HP will offer webOS alongside Windows on all its PCs, in a bid to increase the new platform’s adoption.
There are about 6 500 applications available so far for webOS. If HP wants the platform to gain traction in the market, it needs to attract more developers and apps.
Last month, HP launched its smartphones and tablet computers based on webOS.
