The ABSA Cape Epic, the world’s toughest mountain bike challenge, started in Cape Town on Sunday (27 March). Over eight days, riders in teams of two are covering in excess of 700km of terrain, climbing more than 14,500 metres of the most gruelling terrain the Western Cape has to offer.

Leading backup and data protection software provider, ATTIX5, has entered two teams in this event: a ladies team, featuring Hannele Steyn and Leana de Jager, and a mens team with Herman Keuler and Jan Scannell.
The riders are all leading amateurs, and are expected to stay near the front. Users can plot the progress of the team – and the Epic in general – by joining the Facebook group, or following the teams on Twitter.
