Bytes Document Solutions, authorised Xerox distributor to 27 sub-Saharan countries, has appointed Annex Distribution as a Xerox office products equipment distributor.

The deal will see Annex roll the Xerox office products equipment range out to its extensive reseller base nationally.
“They are a perfect dovetail with our business and strategy,” says Peter Vieira, national channel manager of the Xerox division at Bytes Document Solutions. “Although we do a fair amount of channel and retail business, Annex operates in the open channel market and has been doing exceptionally well for many years. Annex has great reach and is complementary to our business.”
Annex Distribution is a channel-focused and established distributor of digital lifestyle technology, providing robust infrastructure and components to the sub-Saharan Africa market. It started trading as Electronic Building Elements (EBE), the sole technical distributor of Intel in southern Africa, 38 years ago, was since acquired by JSE-listed Altech and is currently a subsidiary of Sahara.
“We have penetrated the corporate market of South Africa, government, and education institutions through our established base of dealers, resellers and solutions providers,” says Annex MD Stephan Nel. “The markets today are ultra-competitive, which means selecting the right partner can make a substantial difference to the bottom line. Decision makers look to IT solutions and infrastructure to maintain competitive advantage, reduce total cost of ownership and secure a healthy return on investment. That’s why we chose Xerox.”
Nel says his business focuses on ensuring the fundamentals of distribution operate optimally: enabling customers to provide value and reliable services to their clients by maintaining high stock levels, generating product awareness and maintaining marketing initiatives, underpinned by quality equipment and professional services.
“Xerox brings intelligent and automated solutions to workplace functions and processes, helps customers improve their office workflow, has the broadest portfolio of offerings for customers of all sizes, and promotes sustainability, productivity, cost savings, and security,” says Nel. “All of this means partnering with Xerox enables us to bring those benefits to our dealer base, who can promote it to their customers to drive value and revenues.”
The Xerox office equipment range includes multifunction printers, printers, copiers, software solutions, scanners and solid ink products.
Xerox office equipment offers a wide range of multifunction printers. Xerox printers come with many features, including some of the best professional colour printers on the market, black and white printers, the award-winning Phaser printers and MFPs, and eco-friendly solid ink printers. Black and white copiers handle different paper sizes, at a range of speeds, and offer unparalleled value. Xerox also offers a range of software tools to help customers manage, create, share, store, or send documents and maximise the functionality of office equipment.
