Intervate, a specialist provider of enterprise information management solutions, has received certification for three Gold Competencies under the revamped Microsoft Partner Network programme.
“This is yet another indication of our commitment to the Microsoft platform, and also Intervate's vision of establishing itself as an internationally-recognised provider of software solutions in the information management field,” says Mpumi Nhlapo, a company director.
“Achieving Gold Competencies in content management, digital marketing and portals and collaboration places us in a very strong position to advance this business strategy.”
Nhlapo adds that the certification offers customers additional assurances that Intervate has the skills, staff and experience to design and implement world-class solutions that address their business needs.
This is further reinforced by the fact that Intervate was the first local company in South Africa to achieve the Gold Competency in content management, and at the same time was only one of two local companies in South Africa to have achieved Gold within portals and collaboration.
Microsoft reconstituted its partner programme last year to align partners' competencies with customer purchasing needs, while also enabling partners to exhibit their particular industry focus and strengths. The categorising of specific competencies versus a blanket Gold Certification is expected to benefit Microsoft partners and customers alike.
Service providers that achieve certification in Gold Competencies demonstrate the highest, most consistent capability and commitment to a particular business solution area.
“We are very excited to have certified Intervate in their Gold Competencies, which builds on the long and mutually-beneficial relationship we have established since the company first achieved Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status,” says Tracy Bolton, business group lead for Information Worker at Microsoft SA.
Despite its Gold Certified Partner status under the previous partner scheme, partners were required to up skill and certify its engineers in order to qualify for its chosen Gold Competencies. Given the company's experience in this field, however, Nhlapo says this was not onerous at all.
“We have always prided ourselves on being the leader in certifications and skills in the information management field,” he says. “We are constantly training and certifying our staff to ensure we are at the cutting edge, thereby giving our customers peace of mind that projects will be the best in class, to spec and on time.”
Intervate is confident that its commitment to the programme will give it a competitive edge in the industry as it looks to build on its client base and reputation in the year ahead.
